Take a closer look at the LEGO Friends Easter Eggs

Recently LEGO released 10292: The Friends Apartments, turning the two famous locations from the comedy into a set you can build and display.

In the marketing of the set it was shown that this would come with a load of Easter Eggs and references to specific episodes. The set is something of a “best hits” collection from the entire run of Friends combining memorable moments into a single display piece.

Some of these you can see thanks to promotional material but, thanks to a copy sent to us by LEGO South Africa, we’ve had the intended experience of building these Easter Eggs.

With an RRP of R2 999.99 not everyone will be able to have that experience, or you may be looking to get a taster before spending the money.

That’s where we come in.

All the Easter Eggs in the set are specifically referred to and explained in the 300 page instruction books. These outtakes are references with a small set of paragraphs and a squiggly red line in the corner of the book.

This is available as a rather large 141.76 MB PDF here, but we’ve gone through it and pulled all those references for you to enjoy in the gallery below.

The functional mechanism to make Joey and Chandler’s seats recline, the neighbour poking stick, the thanksgiving turkey and more are all here and represented in LEGO form.

LEGO instructional booklets are meant to be as universal as possible which is why prints in the past contain little to no written language and depend on pictorial demonstrations of how things come together.

That’s not possible here but the excerpts are presented in three languages: English, French and Spanish.

Make sure you give the latest edition of our podcast, the africast, a listen for more details about this interesting set. You can also see our story from back in May for when this 2 048 piece set was revealed.
