Three games to upgrade your setup for in 2021

While 2021 has long since passed its halfway mark there’s a glut of games scheduled to still come out this year.

If you’re planning on playing them you may also want to pick up some new peripherals to compliment the experience with Logitech’s G Series of hardware being the perfect choice for most.

Below see three games which are on track to be released in the next few months and our suggested Logitech hardware to go along with them.

Forza Horizon 5 plus Logitech G920 & G29

Forza Horizon 4 is our favourite racing game ever, and by a large margin, so we’re beyond excited for the next entry in the franchise.

While the Horizon series leans towards being an arcade racer instead of a racing sim, a steering wheel and a set of pedals still makes a lot of sense here. Not only does this kind of setup really help with the immersion of driving around, but the Horizon series has very deep customisation options when it comes to driver assists.

Things like ABS, traction control, racing lines and more can all be toggled, so you can modify the experience to suit your level of steering wheel and pedal comfort.

If you’ve never used a racing wheel and pedal setup the Logitech G920 (Xbox and PC) and G29 (PlayStation and PC) will be a real treat. The wheel, bound in leather, has 900 degree rotation and two motors to provide feedback to your driving experience.

All your controller buttons are present on the face of the wheel for easy access and it even has paddle shifters on the back if you’re the type who likes to manually shift in games.

The included three pedal setup is adjustable to fit you and, because it has that third pedal you can even manage the clutch.

Both the wheel and pedals are designed to fit both onto a desk and into a racing rig so the pair fits wherever you like and won’t budge while playing.

Forza Horizon 5 will release on 9th November. The Logitech G920 & G29 are available right now.

Battlefield 2042 plus Logitech G502 Hero

The Battlefield series is making an expected return to form this year with a mainline entry set in the near future, offering the signature chaotic multiplayer now with 128 players in some of the biggest and most complex maps that the series has ever seen.

One of our favourite mice for shooters, and most games in general, is the Logitech G502 Hero. This mouse has earned a reputation for being the cream of the crop when it comes to gaming mice, and it’s easy to see why with its titular Hero sensor offering 25K DPI, five adjustable weights and 11 buttons that are customisable.

That array of buttons really comes in handy in a game like Battlefield 2042, when you aren’t just running around as an infantryman, but you can also get into planes, tanks and other vehicles. Having extra buttons available for on foot and in-vehicle gameplay can be a real life saver, as can the ability to switch DPI on the fly.

The built-in memory on the G502 Hero also allows you to switch entire mouse profiles, so you can set one up for each vehicle in the game for ultimate customisation.

Battlefield 2042 will release on 23rd October. The Logitech G502 Hero is available right now.

Dying Light 2 plus Logitech G935

The first Dying Light is one of our all time favourite games and arguably the best zombie game ever made so, just like Forza, we’re excited to see what’s next for the series.

A big gameplay mechanic in Dying Light comes from the name, in the fact that things get rather tricky when the sun goes down. At night the zombies in Dying Light become more aggressive and things turn from fun to horror rather fast, with players egged on to venture out at night for better rewards.

What helps really sell the atmosphere at night is the audio with zombies and ambient noises ramping up the immersion. Not to mention the great foley which makes the melee weapons sound devastating when employing them against the hordes or the last remaining human enemies.

The Logitech G935 is a great partner for your nightly expeditions offering unparalleled 7.1 channel surround sound delivered by 50 mm Pro-G low distortion drivers. This excellent sound quality comes in a headset that is just 374 grams, complete with plush padding, so you can go for longer gaming sessions without fatigue.

As a wireless headset with up to 12 hours of life and an indoor range of up to 15 metres, that low weight is even more impressive.

If the extra audio fidelity makes things a bit too scary you can always rope in some friends with Dying Light 2 supporting two to four player co-op. To speak to your friends the Logitech G635 also has a flip-to-mute boom mic offering clear audio when you need it and it stows away flipped into the ear cup when you don’t.

Dying Light 2 will release on 7th December. The Logitech G935 is available right now.
