Destiny 2 expansions being cycled out in Xbox Game Pass refresh

Microsoft has revealed what games are coming to Xbox Game Pass this month and what titles are being cycled out.

Before we take a look at what you can expect, we need to chat about the exodus of three Destiny 2 expansions.

Back in November 2020, when Destiny 2: Beyond Light launched, it launched on Xbox Game Pass for consoles. The release also included previous expansions namely Shadowkeep and Forsaken. On 8th December, however, all three expansions will be removed from Game Pass for consoles and cloud.

This is the day after Bungie launches its 30th Anniversary event so this seems like Bungie is giving players a day of play before ripping it from them and asking them to pay for access.

Destiny 2 and its three expansions are still available on Xbox Game Pass for PC.

The following titles will also be cycled out on 30th November:

  • Call of the Sea (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • FIFA 19 (Console and PC)
  • Football Manager 2021 (PC)
  • Football Manager 2021 Xbox Edition (Console and PC)
  • Haven (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Hello Neighbor (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Morkredd (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Va-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action (PC).

Thankfully there are a number of new titles on the way for PC, console and cloud although as of time of writing Xbox cloud gaming isn’t available in South Africa.

  • Next Space Rebels (Cloud, Console and PC) – 17th November
  • Exo One (Cloud, Console and PC) – 18th November
  • Fae Tactics (Cloud, Console and PC) – 18th November
  • My Friend Pedro (Cloud, Console and PC) – 18th November
  • Undungeon (Cloud, Console and PC) – 18th November
  • Deeeer Simulator (Cloud, Console and PC) – 23rd November
  • Mortal Shell (Cloud, Console and PC) – 23rd November
  • Evil Genius 2 (Cloud, Console and PC) – 30th November.

There are also several new features being made available to Xbox Insiders on PC. These include enabling mods for games and the ability to select where your games are installed, something that currently requires formatting a drive in order for Windows to allow installation on a specific drive. There are more details about that in the video below.

Earlier this month we highlighted how you could get a Crunchyroll Premium subscription for 75 days with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as a perk. You can now also get three months of YouTube Premium through the same perk system. That might be useful given South Africa’s battles with loadshedding.
