Xbox Game Pass has become an even better deal as a 75-day Crunchyroll Premium: Mega Fan subscription has been added to the mix with no additional purchase needed from subscribers.
There are some caveats, as always, however. The first big one is the fact that this is only available to those with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions. Other versions of Game Pass are not included here.
While that is some bad news it is balanced against the good news of this offer being available in South Africa and most countries. The only territories excluded by name in the announcement from Microsoft are: Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong SAR.
This offer must be claimed by 8th February 2022 and redeemed by 8th March 2022 before it expires.
As you will see in the step by step guide below a working credit card is also needed. Those who forget to cancel their subscription before the 75-day offer ends will get a $9.99 (~R150.50) charge on their card every month until they cancel.
The offer can be redeemed both on PC and console. Below are the steps to follow that we took on PC, but it’s much the same for console. The biggest difference is that, if you don’t feel like creating an account with an Xbox controller, you can use a provided QR code to follow the custom URL.
- Open the Xbox programme.
- Click on your profile icon in the top right corner.
- Click on “Settings”.
- Under the “Subscriptions” section click on “See Perks”.
- Click on “Crunchyroll Premium”.
- A popup will appear. Click on “Get Link”.
- A custom URL leading to the Crunchyroll website will appear. From here click on the “Start Free Trial” option here.
- You will need to create an account and enter in working credit card details.

For South Africans offline viewing is included too which is a great feature to have as we’re still being affected by loadshedding.
