Among Us lands on more consoles with crossplay

For the longest time the only way to play Among Us was on PC, Nintendo Switch or mobile, but now the game has also been ported to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

On top of being available through Game Pass, Among Us can be purchased for Xbox consoles on the Microsoft Store, and for PlayStation consoles on the PlayStation Store.

So what’s the regional pricing like? We’re going to exclude the Android and iOS versions as they are free and supported by ads. The PC version on itch.io will also be excluded as it does not have regional pricing and is instead listed at $5, which converts to around R80.39 right now.

  • PC (Steam): R42
  • PC (Epic Games Store): R34.99
  • Nintendo Switch: R77
  • PlayStation Store: R69
  • Microsoft Store: R85

When looking at those prices it’s also worth remembering that the game is included for no extra charge through Game Pass both for Xboxes and PC.

Regardless of where you own Among Us crossplay is supported.

“Have friends on other devices? No worries! The console version of Among Us allows for crossplay so everyone can play together. 4-15 player lobbies are supported with online multiplayer!” reads the announcement for the launch of the PlayStation and Xbox ports.

One note here, however, is that those on PlayStation do not have access to account linking while Xbox players do.

Accounts have been part of the game for some time now and offer players a lot of features, so we’re not exactly sure why one console ecosystem gets it and one doesn’t. Just another element to consider for those who regularly use multiple consoles and need to weigh up the benefits of each port before making a purchase.

With so many ways to play and a VR version on the horizon, Among Us shows no signs of slowing down.
