Latest real car – Ford Bronco Raptor RLE – arrives in Rocket League

While Fortnite’s latest crossover is with a real person, Rocket League instead gets a real car in the form of the Ford Bronco Raptor RLE. That acronym, RLE, here standing for Rocket League Edition.

Between today, 4th August, and 16th August players can spend 1 100 Credits to unlock a bundle containing the following:

  • “Ford Bronco Raptor RLE (Merc Hitbox)
  • Ford Bronco Raptor RLE Engine Audio
  • Ford Bronco Raptor RLE Wheels
  • Ford Bronco Raptor Decal
  • Ford Bronco Raptor Player Banner.”

1 100 credits costs R186 / £7.50 / €8.54 / USD$9.99 / CAD$13.28 / AUD$14.95 depending on where you live so it’s not the cheapest bundle out there but pair for the course when it comes to this kind of DLC.

New cosmetics aren’t all that’s available, but there is some good news and some bad news about that. The good news is that there’s an event taking place with prizes. The bad news is that it’s limited to a small part of the world.

“… the best Freestylers from North America will be invited to compete in an epic freestyle competition! Then on August 13, the top two scoring players will join us at the Rocket League World Championship in Fort Worth, Texas, to compete in front of a live audience for their part of a 100k Prize Pool. Ford is also an Official Sponsor of the Rocket League World Championship beginning August 4 and running until August 14,” the announcement reads.

The rest of us can watch these events on Twitch.

Lastly, we need to comment on one peculiarity here. In the thumbnail for the trailer of this event, which you can see below, there’s a logo for this car: a horse with the word “Raptor” under it.

We understand that this is because the car is called the “Bronco Raptor”, but really it just looks like someone at Ford thinks a Raptor is a kind of horse.
