Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered crosses 20K reviews

Over the weekend Sony’s latest PC port – Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered – continued its success on the platform as it crossed another milestone in the form of reviews on Steam surpassing the 20K mark.

The game crossed the 10K mark earlier this month so it seems the reviews keep rolling in as more people play the port.

At the time of writing the game has 21 266 reviews in total. 96 percent of those reviews are positive, leaving Spidey’s latest outing with an “Overwhelming Positive” overall standing, which is the absolute highest a game can achieve on Steam.

We understand why as we’ve played almost every version of this game released over the years both on PlayStation consoles and now most recently on PC. See our review of the port here where, spoiler alert for our own content, we left the game with high praises yet again and a suitably high score.

But what are those twenty thousand Steam reviews saying? With so many reviews there are some common threads from what we’ve read including the playerbase being happy that they can play this title on PC finally.

As for the negative reviews, there’s a mix of criticism for the technical aspects of the PC version as well as the base game itself. While the former will hopefully be fixed with patches the latter is locked to the core DNA of a game that originally came out in 2018.

Hopefully the upcoming sequel which has teased Venom and Kraven the Hunter will improve on these shortcomings. What we’re hoping for is that the launch of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation won’t take years to arrive on PC like its predecessor has, and the community has proven it has an appetite for these Sony games when they’re available elsewhere.
