It’s a new week but the top performing titles on Steam look rather familiar with the Steam Deck in first, Stray in second and Spider-Man in third.
This list, as always, comes to us from the Steam Database (SteamDB) which tracks happenings on Valve’s store and provides a weekly recap on the top earners organised by revenue generated in the past seven days.
The Steam Deck is once again on top but we’re not sure if this is because of its continued momentum after several weeks in that position or if opening up to certain Asian markets.
Even if the wider availability lead to more people buying the portable PC, those in Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan have to buy their copies off of the Komodo platform instead of Steam itself.
Because of this any extra sales from those territories likely didn’t bolster the sales here, which is another testament to how popular the Steam Deck.
As for Stray its continued success is not too surprising given how much the internet loves cats but we are coming up on a month since its 19th July launch. It will be interesting to see if it can keep the internet’s attention that long.
Another internet favourite is Spider-Man and the remaster and port to PC has proven popular leading up to release as its strong performance on these top seller lists has all been pre-orders. The game finally launches on 12th August and we wouldn’t be too surprised to see it closer to the top of the list next week as people flock to buy it after release.
The rest of the list, which you can see below, presents no real surprises as every title here has appeared multiple times before. Interestingly GTA V continues to bring in sales with news of a sequel doing the rounds after many years of silence.
