Stray & Spider-Man can’t beat the Steam Deck as the top seller

Despite the burgeoning popularity of Stray and the continued popularity of Spider-Man, neither could dethrone the Steam Deck as the top selling product on Steam.

As with every week this information comes to us from the Steam Database (SteamDB), a third party tracking site which creates a top ten selling list by way of revenue generated in the last seven days. You can see this list below.

On top of the fact that the Steam Deck is in such high demand, the high cost of each Steam Deck is likely what has helped it remain in the top spot for so long.

  1. Steam Deck | 1st last week
  2. Stray | 3rd last week
  3. Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
  4. Raft | 2nd last week
  5. Dinkum
  6. No Man’s Sky
  7. Valve Index VR Kit
  8. ELDEN RING | 4th last week
  9. MultiVersus Founder’s Pack – Standard Edition
  10. Ready or Not | 5th last week.

As for Stray, the game has managed to create a massive following since launching on 19th July and it quickly shot up to become one of the most played games on Steam.

At the time of publication, which is early on a Monday morning, Stray still has 13 813 concurrent players according to the official numbers from Valve itself.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered went up for pre-order last week as we head to its 12th August release date. Everyone loves Spider-Man and, thankfully, some countries like South Africa got favourable regional pricing for this title.

The original Marvel’s Spider-Man released back in 2018 so asking for the full $60 for the remaster overseas could be problematic, so we’ll have to see how long it can remain so high on the list going into the future.

As we covered last week Elden Ring had a multi-month streak of appearances on the top seller list but was finally kicked off of it when the Steam Summer Sale 2022 started. We’ll have to wait another seven days to see if it can remain here.

The one game that really surprised us, however, is Dinkum. We had never heard of this one before and its success here may be from the fact that it launched into Early Access earlier this month.

“G’Day! Get ready to start a new fair Dinkum life and build your new home out in the bush. Explore tropical eucalyptus forests, scorching deserts and cool billabongs on an Island inspired by the wild Australian outback. Take care of giant wombats, play with friends and get ready for a ripper time!” reads the description of the game.
