God of War Ragnarok story trailer gives us more glimpses of red headed Thor

In the wee hours of this morning PlayStation held its latest State of Play event, showcasing highly anticipated titles and some interesting projects that are in development from a number of studios.

For the former category is God of War Ragnarok, which received a relatively short story trailer to further amp up excitement as we near its 9th November release date.

Along with featuring a lot of dialogue from Tyr, the towering Norse god of war, we also get to see some action involving Freya, who is seemingly seeking revenge for Kratos killing Baldur.

There are what looks to be two new valkyrie that Kratos and Atreus need to contend with, but the biggest antagonist may have been showcased towards the end of the trailer as Kratos and Thor are seeing duking it out a bit.

In the clips from the trailer, featured below, both gods throw their weapons at one another in what appears to be one of the larger scale boss fights for the game. Hopefully this is not the only time we get to square off against a rotund and red headed Thor.

Other notable elements from the story trailer show the role that Atreus will play in bringing about Ragnarok, but it is unclear for now whether he will take on his true name of Loki for the game.

Either way the exploration of Norse mythology should complement the action and dynamic between father and son nicely when the game is released in a short while.

Speaking of which, PlayStation also showcased a new piece of limited edition hardware for God of War Ragnarok in the form of a DualSense controller.

The main body of the controller is white, with blue ice accents and the central pad featuring a bear and wolf insignia, representing Kratos and Atreus respectively.

It is unclear how much this limited edition controller will cost, or indeed if it will be available in multiple regions, but it is expected to be available to pre-order Stateside come 27th September.
