• Parler has said that its deal with Ye is no longer happening.
• The platform says that Ye’s recent business troubles are the reason for the deal falling through.
• This announcement comes just hours after Ye went on an anti-Semitic tirade on Alex Jones’ InfoWars podcast.

As a rule, if you are in a room with Alex Jones and he’s the one making sense, you may be way off the reservation.

The internet is a buzz after the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, now going by Ye, appeared on Jones’ InfoWars podcast alongside white supremacist Nick Fuentes on Thursday.

The rapper proceeded to use the platform to launch an anti-Semitic tirade in which he declared that he liked Adolf Hitler. Clips from the podcast show Ye wearing a full face mask and bizarrely, Jones pushes back on Ye’s anti-Semitism. “I don’t think Hitler’s a good guy,” said Jones.

Just hours after this podcast aired, Parler announced that it was terminating the agreement between it and Ye. The social media platform says that this decision was made in mid-November.

“In response to numerous media inquiries, Parlement Technologies would like to confirm that the company has mutually agreed with Ye to terminate the intent of sale of Parler. This decision was made in the interest of both parties in mid-November,” the platform wrote on Twitter.

“Parler will continue to pursue future opportunities for growth and the evolution of the platform for our vibrant community,” the platform added.

This is not the only issue the rapper now has. This morning Ye’s Twitter account was suspended. Following the account suspension Twitter’s new owner tweeted out an acronym that we’d argue is related to this suspension. The owner has clarified that the account was suspended for incitement of violence and not for posting an unflattering photo of him.

This would be the second time Ye has been suspended with his account recently being reinstated following a general amnesty to a number of accounts granted by Musk.

According to Engadget, Parler said that “Ye’s recent and ongoing business difficulties” was one reason the deal fell through.

Last year, Parler battled to remain on digital storefronts when Google and Apple removed the app for violating terms of service. Things got really bad when AWS stopped providing hosting services after the Amazon entity discovered that posts on the site encouraged and incited violence.

What happens next for Parler is unknown, but the platform told The Verge that, “Parler will continue to pursue future opportunities for growth and the evolution of the platform for our vibrant community.”

And here we thought things would slow down now that the end of the year is in sight.
