Step up your editing with Creative

Editing of video, audio, animation and more was once the walled garden of media professionals working on hardware and software that was so expensive only the largest companies could foot the bill.

Thankfully the massive advancements in raw PC power have allowed just about anyone to take up a hobby, or even a profession, editing what they love. This advancement in hardware was met with a different change in software as larger editing software companies opened up their platforms with cheaper options, and even entirely free competitors have popped up.

For audio hardware Creative has also kept pace and now offers a range of home speakers to go along with your editing setup, to ensure that you get the best music, dialogue, foley and more in your project.

You likely know Creative as the pioneers of earlier PC audio hardware and its venerable Sound Blaster products. The company has put this legacy to work with new speakers available now.

One of these speaker sets is the Creative T60, which utilises two forks of the tech in the form of Clear Dialog by Sound Blaster and Surround by Sound Blaster.

Clear Dialog, as you may have guessed, ensures that you get crisp, audible spoken audio. This isn’t just great for movies and shows, but also for music where vocals get a bump.

A godsend for media consumption, Clear Dialog also helps with editing when recorded content may not be the clearest.

Surround by Sound Blaster improves the room-filling experience to make all audio more engrossing.

Both Clear Dialog and Surround can be toggled using physical controls on the body of the T60, so you can switch them on and off to hear the difference, which is another quality of life improvement for editors who may want to turn these assistants on or off depending on the project.

The body of the T60, which you can see more of in the trailer below, is a compact design that packs a big punch while fitting into any setup out there.

Those looking for a bit more oomph should consider the Creative SBS E2900, pictured below, which also features a pair of satellite speakers but backs them up with a beefy front-firing subwoofer.

The most powerful offering in the Creative SBS E2000 series, this system really can do it all with its satellites offering far-field drivers and the subwoofer delivering on the bass.

This speaker system features even more physical controls – a joy for those already bogged down in controlling everything else with software and for those who simply prefer the tactile experience.

Music producers will love the SBS E2900 and its ability to deliver on all sound stages. It’s great for listening to new projects as they are made before pushing them out to the public. While bass-heavy tunes are of course a speciality here, the tuning from Creative on the entire SBS E2900 package makes it perfect for all music types.

The T60, SBS E2900 and much of the Creative product family are now available in South Africa.
