Three major titles coming to PlayStation Plus in June

  • PlayStation has announced NBA 2K23, Jurassic World Evolution 2 and Trek to Yomi as the games heading for PlayStation Plus this month.
  • All three games will be available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 as of 6th June 2023.
  • Today will also be the last day you can download and keep May’s PS Plus titles.

The line-up of PlayStation (PS) Plus games for June 2023 has been announced, with all three of the following titles available for subscribers of the service as of today – 6th June 2023.

Additionally, subscribers will have until today to download and keep the PS Plus games for May, which include GRID Legends, Chivalry 2 and the Descenders.

All three of June’s titles are available for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, according to an official blog post from Sony. Let’s break them down:

The first game is the sequel to dinosaur theme park builder Jurassic World Evolution. Evolution 2, released in 2018, lets you create, and maintain your own Jurassic Park or Jurassic World island.

Research new dinosaurs from an expansive catalogue of species, including Indominus Rex-like monstrosities, fill your island, build safe enclosures and watch with glee as your safety measures fail and dinosaurs begin eating your guests.

Trek to Yomi is an Akira Kurosawa-inspired black and white side-scrolling samurai action game where style and violence come hand-in-hand.

It follows the story of ronin Hiroki and takes a supernatural twist. PlayStation explains, “Experience his heroic return to make good on his failed promise to save the people he swore to protect. As a vow to his dying Master, the young swordsman is sworn to protect his town and the people he loves against all threats. Faced with tragedy and bound to duty, the lone samurai must voyage beyond life and death to confront himself and decide his path forward.”

In the trailer you see Hiroki face off against myriad bandits in stylised battles across Sengoku-era Japan, and eventually even undead samurai.

Headlining the games for June is NBA 2K23, last year’s basketball sim mainstay.

“With best-in-class visual presentation, up-to-date rosters and historic teams, the game has never felt more real and complete than it does in NBA 2K23,” says PlayStation.

Here you can play as and against your favourite teams in the NBA and the WNBA with “true-to-life” gameplay being the selling point, allowing you to be immersed as if it was the real thing.

MyCAREER and The W modes allow you to create your own baller and test yourself against the top stars of today. Meanwhile MyTEAM lets you build your all-star basketball team, and for the business-minded the MyNBA mode lets you create and league a whole league.

This June, PlayStation Plus members will also get access to exclusive monthly MyTEAM packs in-game.
