The concept of having groceries delivered to your home would have sounded like a pipe dream even just five years ago. Today, however, many South Africans have multiple grocery delivery apps on their smartphone that can be used to order ease and convenience.
Checkers, Pick n Pay, Woolworths, Spar, and more all have their spin on these apps and while they all just about accomplish the same task, the experiences offered by each retailer differ wildly.
The market for grocery delivery in South Africa is only growing but there is fierce competition given the upward march of the cost of living.
In this episode of Geeks Love Lists we discuss our experiences with each of the apps as well as the likes of Uber Eats and Mr D Food which offer deliveries from more than just restaurants. We lament our problems but we also mention some highlights.
Of course, we also rank each of the retailer’s apps to determine which is the best.
