Cyberpunk 2077 free to play on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S this Easter weekend

  • CD Projeckt RED has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will be free to play this Easter weekend.
  • The developer says the game will be freely accessible to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players between 28th and 31st March.
  • The free trial is limited to five hours of play time, however.

Instead of doom scrolling social media this Easter weekend, why not pick up your console controller and play a game for free? The game in question being Cyberpunk 2077, as developers CD Projeckt RED have confirmed the game will be free to play under a trial this coming weekend.

More specifically the game will be free to play on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, with access opening up at 17:00 on 28th March and closing at 9:59 on 31st March. It added that there is no subscription required to access the free trial.

The developer confirmed the details in a post on X, also noting that there is one significant caveat. Namely, players will only have five hours of play time for the free trial.

If you have not played the game, choosing to avoid its turbulent launch in late 2020, now is as good a time as any to check out Night City. Having recently enjoyed the Phantom Liberty expansion immensely, as well as appreciating the vast number of improvements made to overall gameplay and stability for the title, this game is now well worth your time.

As such, we would not be surprised to see players pick up the game in full after they’ve played it for five hours.
