SPEEDRUN – Undersea cables leave South Africans buffering

If you are reading this morning’s Speedrun roundup count yourself as one of the lucky ones, as the past 24 hours has seen many South Africans struggle with connectivity resulting from a break in undersea cables in West Africa.

These undersea cables have proved problematic in recent months, as this is not the first time that a breakage has been reported, and resulted in poor connectivity nationwide.

As for the other stories we’re highlighting in this Speedrun roundup, we’ve selected a response from one of the former NSFAS payment facilitators, another twist in the fate of SAA, a new mid0range phone from realme, an update on Summer Game Fest, and the world’s first AI Act.
