We have a rare four feature africast this week touching on a new racing sim, a videogame-themed toy, professional gaming in SA, and STEM for kids this holiday season.

The newest iteration of the Formula 1 racing games – F1 2019 – is out now and we’ve been putting hours into it before our upcoming review. While there are some small niggles and questionable choices, it’s another solid entry in the franchise.

If you like Nerf and / or Fortnite, the recent collaboration between the two to turn weapons from the game into physical blasters is right up your alley. We have the biggest blaster from this range in the AR-L to test out, which is a motorised blaster that will fire off ten darts before needing a reload.

Sticking with Fortnite, local esports team Bravado Gaming has become involved in it, and we got to sit down with its CEO to speak about it, along with the roles that sponsors play for any team wanting to make an impression.

Finally the school holidays are almost over, but we’ve gathered some interesting things to do for kids during that time, all in some way related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
