You can vote in the PlayStation Blog Game of the Year 2021

The PlayStation Blog, an official site operated by Sony to keep the pulic informed about content on its consoles, has now opened up public voting for Game of the Year 2021.

Anyone can cast their votes right here and, thankfully, you don’t need to create an account or do any extra work aside from choosing your picks.

A change made to the voting here is that every single category has a write-in option so that voters can choose a game that isn’t included on the list. While this is welcome, write-in options very rarely win. We wouldn’t say it’s a waste of a vote but a concerted effort will need to be made by a group of voters to get a write-in winner.

Another interesting decision here is the most anticipated category. It has been expanded not just to include titles coming out in 2022, but also later than that. With so many game delays and reshuffles caused by the pandemic this seems like a smart move.

Finally it’s worth mentioning that only games available on PlayStation consoles are included here. That’s worth remembering because, for example, the “Best Accessibility Features” category would be an easy win for Forza Horizon 5 and its plethora of options. It’s only available on Xbox and PC, so it’s not included here.

The 16 categories to vote in can be found below. Votes close on 13th December so get your choice in sooner rather than later. Winners will be announced “later this month” so we will see the results before we go into 2022.

  • Best Multiplayer Experience
  • Best Sports Game
