htxt.africast – God of War and Thor

The africast returns this week through the perils of loadshedding for another episode, this time focused on two big properties on the horizon borrowing from Norse mythology.

Before that we start with some other news beginning with our recent review of the James Donkey RS4 mechanical keyboard. Despite the weird name this brand has been making waves overseas and we finally got a chance to look at it thanks to the store Mechkeys which South Africans should keep on their radar thanks to simple shipping which includes import taxes / fees and delivery that goes straight to your door instead of the black hole of the post office.

Next up is Japan seeking to curb online insults with substantial fines and potentially jail time. With so much happening on the internet all the time we have our doubts about this being enforced, but only time will tell if it’s successful.

Finally for news we have the aforementioned loadshedding which was partially caused by industrial action stemming from wage negotiations. While those negotiations are now settled loadshedding remains and it’s unclear if it will ever stop.

On to our main topic this week and God of War Ragnarok has a release date assuaging our fears that it would be delayed into 2023. This isn’t the only Norse property on the horizon with Thor: Love and Thunder releasing in local cinemas this week.

Unlike God of War we have seen the new Thor and can report on it for those considering seeing it this weekend.
