Fortnite’s next crossover is seemingly with Destiny 2

While Mark Zuckerberg tries to convince everybody that Meta’s Metaverse is worth investing in, Epic Games continues to add every property it can to Fortnite.

On Sunday, ahead of Bungie’s Destiny 2 Showcase this week, it was leaked that the next Fortnite crossover would be with Destiny 2.

“Can confirm it now: The collab coming this week is Destiny. Here’s the first look at the skins appearing in Destiny itself,” German Fortnite news Twitter account MidaRado announced.

In the image accompanying the tweet we can see Ornament sets for all of Destiny’s classes inspired by Fortnite. As of time of writing, we have no idea what Destiny-inspired cosmetics will make their way into Fortnite. There are countless weapons and characters that could easily fit into Fortnite so speculating would keep us here all day.

We do have to wonder whether this crossover will see Destiny 2 coming to the Epic Games Store. While Bungie didn’t opt for the store front when leaving Activision Blizzard, perhaps the recent acquisition by Sony – which recently invested in Epic Games – will change that.

Thankfully, won’t have to wait long find out more.

Bungie is scheduled to host a Destiny 2 Showcase on Tuesday. The developer is expected to announce the next penultimate expansion in its Light versus Dark saga tentatively known as Lightfall.

In addition, there will be news about the next season which launches after the showcase and the next Raid which becomes available this Friday.

While a Fortnite crossover with Destiny is cool, it’s unlikely to be as large as the recent crossover with Dragon Ball. With that having been said, I might just start playing Fortnite now.
