Another africast is here and we’re looking at the tech side of Russia’s invasion into Ukraine and how the global community of companies is dealing with the conflict as many suspend services in the region or simply choose to pull out of the country entirely.
Before that in less serious news this week we finally have a teaser of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series that has been coming for years now and, thankfully, it won’t all be on Tatooine.
Next up is Luno which has provided some insight into who in South Africa is buying crypto and how. There are some expected results here, but also interesting stats about this new form of finance in the country.
Finally for news it’s the FPB and its new rules for distributors, which is even more complex than it needs to be as it cannot disclose who exactly those distributors are.
On to the main topic this week and it seems like every day brings news of new companies announcing their plans to withdraw from Russia in protest of its aggressions against Ukraine. The minutia of it is a lot more complex especially for Russians on the ground who are not the ones choosing to go to war.
